Question: How is epoxy used in fuel island restorations?
Answer: Our product is basically made out of 100 percent solid epoxy. For a gas island, it’s a three-step build-up process. First, we would take off and remove the metal, and then we would form the island up. We would then mix our epoxy with a special blend of aggregates that we use, and then pour the island in the same perimeter so it would be the same shape. After that sets up, we would do another protective coat of epoxy, as well. Then, we would do a urethane polyurea top coat to make it stable, not fade and protect it from chemicals, oil spills, gas, and all the other substances that it can be exposed to.
