CASE STUDY: National Oil Change Franchise
LOCATION: 219 SITES ACROSS THE 15 STATES
SITUATION:
The oil change facilities had service bays with existing paint/coatings that were failing, which made the surfaces very difficult to clean and maintain. Traditional solutions were not durable enough to withstand the daily wear and tear of the oil change facility. Everything from dropping tools to dripping oil was ruining the floors of the bays, no matter how many times they were resurfaced.
SOLUTION:
Simon UM has proven to be ideal for tough environments like these where a non-porous and anti-slip surface is needed. Over the course of two years, Simon Surfaces installed its Urethane Mortar (Simon UM) system in the service bays at 219 oil change facilities.
Our technicians first performed the necessary prep work. From there, a self-leveling urethane mortar base coat was applied, along with slip-resistance materials. The base coat is 3/16” thick and provides substances and durability to the floor. A polyaspartic topcoat was then applied to thoroughly seal the surface, creating a chemical-resistant barrier. This topcoat also enhances longevity and makes the surface very easy to clean. The quick-curing process resulted in very little downtime for the facility – in fact, the service bays were able to withstand vehicle traffic within 12 hours.
