CASE STUDY: A step above: retail steps receive makeover with Simon Surfaces
LOCATION: Michigan
SITUATION:
The corporate headquarters of the large national retailer experienced high traffic volume through the entryway of the facility, particularly on the concrete steps leading up to the doors. These steps had become weathered, aged, cracked and stained. Due to the foot traffic, a concrete tear-out and replacement was out of the question – disruption to business was not an option.
- Total Area: 1,475 Linear Feet
- Project Completion: 4 Days
- Solution: Simon HD
SOLUTION:
Simon Surfaces first repaired the concrete defects of the steps and entryway to eliminate safety issues. Then, the concrete was resurfaced using Simon HD – a heavy-duty solution with superior durability and appearance. Simon HD is a slip-resistant system that is 2 to 3 times stronger than standard concrete. The entrance was never fully shut down during the project so that employees could enter and exit the facility as necessary.
END RESULT:
-
Improved aesthetics and structural integrity
-
Trip-n-fall safety concerns were resolved
-
Minimal disruption to business with very little dust and debris
